Here is a selection of what some of our guests say about their stay at La Maison Noble.

“My children and I enjoyed a week at La Maison Noble and had the best time. The house is large and comfortable with a lovely home from home feel to it. It’s in a quiet location with lovely walks and my young son had a ball playing in the vast garden while my older daughter sun bathed. There are lovely beaches nearby and plenty of places to visit. If you want a really relaxing break and you have young children to keep happy it’s perfect.” Margaret (August 2015)

“Loved staying at La Maison Noble. Lots of space, comfortable and the peaceful garden full of blossom and wild flowers.” Catherine (April 2017)

“We have just returned from a lovely week at Maison Noble. The property is fully equipped for a comfortable holiday in the Normandy countryside. Large enclosed, gated garden with table, chairs and loungers. Wonderful places to visit within 30 minutes drive. Honfleur, Deauville, Trouville etc plus really interesting Pegasus Bridge and Normandy landing beaches. We also had a super visit to Paris for three days by train from Caen which took 2 hours. Hoping to return in the future.” Rigby (April 2017)

“We stayed in La Maison Noble at the end of May and were all looking for a relaxing break after a busy half term. We were not disappointed! The house is set in the most beautiful countryside and offers all the comforts of home! It also lies within 30 minutes of spectacular locations -WW2 beaches and museums, the Bayeux tapestry, Honfleur (gorgeous) and the spiritual sanctuary of Lisieux. So much for everyone. The best bit though was returning to the peace of the house at the end of the day!” The Gill Family (May 2017)

“A fantastic week in this beautiful home from home. A superb step out of the hustle and bustle into the stunning Normandy countryside – our daughter has enjoyed the games/hide and seek potential of the garden and we have loved a space to enjoy with a glass of cider! The house is the perfect house for exploring local treasures – we have made the most of the idyllic villages, the fabulous ancient heritage of Bayeux, the rich World War 2 sites and the amazing beaches, including Cabourg. The hosts couldn’t do more to set us up to enjoy our week and we will most definitely be back. Thank you!!” Trevor and Beryl (June 2017)

“The house was a beautiful and peaceful place to stay while visiting the historical sites around Normandy. The house is located in a lovely and quiet village which is something my family and I were not used to, so it was the perfect place to be. The garden was huge! It was great for all the sports my dad and brother and I played, while my mum and sister watched and joined in a couple of times.

“Thank you for letting us use your house for the weeks. It was really nice! We each had our own rooms (but I don’t think my brother realised that as he always went into my room. Overall this holiday was amazing and we all enjoyed it! ” Humphries Family (4 August 2017)

“Lovely, relaxing stay at Maison Noble. Plenty of space for all of us to read, play board games and enjoy the pleasures of Normandy. Monet house and gardens worth the drive. D Day beaches and museums always very moving. Scrabble loved jumping the waves at Houlgate (the west side of the beach allows dogs on it – many don’t at this time of year). Eric Satie museum in Honfleur is an eccentric extra worth visiting. Lovely location and recommend the circular walk down into the valley and back round.”  Skirrow family and Scrabble the dog (22 August 2017)

“What an absolutely fabulous house! We have all loved every single minute of our stay here and are sad to be leaving 🙁  The cottage had everything we needed and we just adored its rural setting – but its ease of being able to get to the beach within 25-30 minutes. We loved Deauville, Bayeux, Cabourg, had a very hot day at Villers-sur-mer beach and lovely evening at Honfleur. The kids loved running around the garden playing and it was so lush to enjoy eating outside with such a gorgeous view. Thank you so much for having us, Jane, It’s been a holiday that we will never ever forget. xx” Sue, Ade, Scarlett (10) and Albie (8) (22-31 August 2017)

“Recently returned from an enjoyable stay in this comfortable and well appointed house. The location is quiet and peaceful, with a large secure garden, ideal for children and dogs. There are nearby local towns to visit and a cider farm, where you can sample the local cider. A little further afield is the charming port of Honfleur and the town of Deauville. There are several nearby markets and beaches all within easy each, or you can just enjoy a walk in the local countryside. Will visit again.” Jacky (April 2018)

“We have had a lovely week at this wonderful house. It has all the home comforts that you could wish for in a superb part of rural France.

We tended to self-cater but did try the bar in the village on one evening. This was exceptionally good value for money. Though they do not speak English, so our google translate app was a godsend. They were very accommodating and the food was delicious.

Beds here are very comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped with good quality equipment which is a nice change for a holiday let.

Thank you for letting us stay in your fabulous home.” Lewis and Hughes families (May 2018)

“We had an enjoyable stay in La Maison Noble. We spent two lovely sunny days in Honfleur and Villers-sur-Mer. On less sunny days the Normandy landing beaches, Fatous Castle and Lisieux were good day trips.

The property is well equipped and very suitable for our two-year-old. The garden is great for burning off energy and listening to the birds as well seeing the horses and donkey.

A good week enjoyed by us all. Thank you.” Halle and Brain families (June 2018)

“We have had a lovely week at Maison Noble. Everything we needed was here. It was homely and spacious. Enjoyed sitting outside in the garden with a glass of wine, plenty of sun but shade when needed.

Our two teenagers were happy to have wifi but also liked to have a go at speaking French when out and about! We visited several places on the coast and had a nice meal out at the creperie in Beuvron-en-Auge.

All in all, a restful week and would be happy to return ourselves and recommend to others.

Thank you especially to Jane who was always so quick to respond and answer any questions, a pleasure to deal with. We also did the circular walk a few times, just a good distance! Hains family (July 2018)

“Thank you for an amazing week! The house is perfect and the garden was enjoyed by all of us; the children loved playing ‘hide and seek’ whereas we made the most of the peace (when the children were asleep (enjoying a bottle of wine on the patio.

We used Maison Noble as a base to explore Normandy and we visited Mont-St-Michel (well worth the drive); Honfleur; Cabourg; Houlgate; Viller sur Mer; Pegasus Bridge and much more. The beaches are vast and we were blessd with wonderful weather and a much appreciated breeze.

Super U, in the town, is great and the local vets were very helpful in ensuring the dog’s passport was stamped.

The instructions from the owners are very useful and full of attention to detail which made finding the property and making use of everything so easy.” Hawthorne family (July 2018)

“A fantastic week! Maison Noble is an excellent base for exploring all the sights Normandy has to offer.

We enjoyed visiitng Honfleur (does get very busy), Cabourg, Bayeux and beautiful Beuvron-en-Auge (which is only a 15 minute drive away).

The children had a wonderful time on the many beaches within easy reach – Cabourg, Houlgate, Villers sur Mer (which is also home to a super dinosaur museum). Deauville and Trouville are worth a visit too.

Our absolute highlight must be the D-Day Trail however, both the British cemetery at Bayeux and the American cemetery at Omaha Beach (St Laurent sur Mer). If you are interested in the D-Day history, you absolutely must visit the 360 degree cinema at Arromanches. It is incredible – reasonable, very well done and enormously moving.

We enjoyed a great deal of fromage, beautiful cakes from the patisserie in Dozule and one or two glasses of Normandie cidre and vin rouge. Thank you.” Burnett and Gudge families (August 2018)

“We really enjoyed our stay at your house, what a beautiful, quiet area and such lovely walks, we all had a fantastic time.

Your house is very well equipped, we have stayed at many different houses over the years but yours is at the top for everything you need.

Thank you again for everything and we would probably stay with you again maybe next year.” Susan (April 2019)

“The house is down a winding lane, but don’t let it put you off as it is well worth it when you arrive. The property is lovely, and very peaceful. It is very well equipped, with the bed made up on our arrival. With 4 toilets, 2 showers and a bath this property would be ideal for a large group, although didn’t feel like we were rattling around with only 2 of us there. The kitchen is well equipped, including a deep-fat fryer built into the worktop, although we didn’t use it. The dishwasher is very quiet running, and the utility room had a top-loading washing machine and fridge/freezer (large fridge, small freezer). The washing line is at the side of the house, and a large airer was very handy on a variable weather day, as put lots on it and stood it on the patio, then quickly carried it inside when it started raining! There is good storage in the bedrooms & plenty of hangers in the wardrobes, which is nice change. There is a selection of dvd’s and books in the lounge, and being able to get English TV was very welcome. The log-burner gives a lovely amount of heat very quickly; there were some logs and firelighters at the house, and we then bought a bag of the log blocks from the garden centre (often available at the supermarkets and garages as well). There are masses of different types of places to visit, and the owners have provided loads of information leaflets to help with this. Owner is also very quick to answer any queries. Thanks so much Jane, hope to visit again x” Teresa (May 2019)

“Maison Noble is a lovely holiday home in the Normandy countryside. It has a large and well-maintained garden – equally ideal for families with children or for those looking for a quiet getaway – and is set in beautiful countryside and farmland outside a small and very pretty village. The house itself is spacious, very clean and very well equipped, with three bathrooms/showers and more WCs than I can remember. At least four and maybe five! It is also exceptionally well stocked with everything you might need for your holiday. The nearest shops are a short drive away – no more than ten minutes – in Dozulé, which offers small shops, among them two very good bakeries, and a good supermarket. It is close to the delightful upscale seaside resort of Deauville, as well as the wide Normandy beaches near Villers-sur-Mer and Houlgate. It is also only a few minutes from the motorway, so access to the WW2 landing beaches near Caen is easy, as are trips slightly further afield to the beautiful medieval city centre of Rouen, magical Mont St Michel, or Bayeux. I’ve stayed in lots of gites and holiday lets in France, and used to own one myself further south towards Vire. Maison Noble is very much among the best of them. Jane, the property’s owner, seemed very helpful and friendly in all my dealings with her.” Mathew (July 2019)

“What a wonderful week we have just had! La Maison Noble is a lovely rural house in a very quiet setting with a beautiful garden. Everything has been thought of meaning it is very much a home from home, including a very comfortable bed! Despite being October we were lucky to have good weather. Jane was extremely helpful in the lead up to the holiday, providing all the information we required and responding to our couple of queries very promptly. All the information on the Holiday France Direct website and La Maison Noble’s own website was accurate. The house is in an ideal setting: very close to the D-Day landing beaches and museums as well as Caen, Bayeux, Lisieux and Falaise (William the Conqueror). Retail therapy on a wet day is amply served at the Mondeville shopping centre on the outskirts of Caen! Thank you La Maison Noble! A peaceful and restful holiday all round.” Veronica (October 2019)

“Thank you! We have all had a great Christmas in La Maison Noble. Everything we needed was available. Very well stocked house. Brilliant location and beautiful surroundings really made an amazing Christmas for us. Thank you! (Heart)” Bright family (December 2019)

“This is a lovely house, set in gorgeous countryside, which feels quite remote but is still near to local amenities, the beaches and other sites of interest. As we were there during Covid, we ate at the house most of the time, which was lovely on the patio overlooking the garden. There is a very good supermarket in nearby Douzule, as well as a baker (Chez Jouane, I think) selling fabulous baguettes and pastries. Numerous farms nearby for Cider and Calvados tasting/buying. The house itself is very well equipped and should have everything you need. Very good advice and communication with the owner prior to the trip, so all is clear and explained. We took our bikes and particularly enjoyed riding along the Canal from Caen to “Sword” beach and back. I would be very happy to return one day!” Stuart (August 2020)

“I can honestly say that I have no fault to find with our very enjoyable stay at The Maison Noble so I have no hesitation in giving it 10 all round! I would like to add that the closeness of many places of interest added to our convenience and enjoyment of our holiday. Thank you!” Victor (August 2021)

“This was a lovely stay in a well appointed and comfortable house in a part of Normandy close to seaside towns and within easy reach of important sites such as D-day landing beaches and Bayeux. We haven’t slept so well for ages, and even though the weather wasn’t brilliant there was so much to see and do. The village brassiere has a lovely terrace and the nearby town of Dozulé has whatever you need for food shopping and restaurants. The village is about forty minutes from Caen, and only about three hours drive from Calais, so very accessible. Jane was incredibly helpful and gave us all the info we needed for a refreshing, if too short break.” Anthony (August 2021)

Lovely gite in the Calvados countryside. We absolutely loved our stay at La Maison Noble, it is a charming, cosy and comfortable base for a holiday. The owners are friendly and incredibly helpful, and the home is very well equipped. Our dogs loved the huge garden, and we loved the peace and quiet – and the donkey at the bottom of the garden! The house is down a quiet lane yet only 10 mins drive from a great supermarket. This is an ideal base for exploring the Calvados countryside, and the pretty seaside towns, being only 20 mins from the nearest beach. It is also well situated to visit many WW2 sites, Pegasus bridge is around 45 mins, and Arromanches (Gold beach at D day) about an hour. We would definitely recommend La Maison Noble, and may well return one day!”

I had the absolute pleasure to stay at La Maison Noble the week following Bastille Day, with my sister and brother-in-law. What an absolutely perfect time we had. Before our arrival we were given fantastic and comprehensive details about the property, about the location, local amenities, nearby landmarks, hints and tips, and invaluable instructions/directions. Everything one could possibly need. La Maison Noble is a brilliant property, perfectly laid out and there is everything here that you could possibly need. Wonderful generosity, ensuring that there are plenty of products available to make your stay comfortable, ample bedding and clean towels (an abundance of both) and the setting is simply stunning. We stayed during the heatwave of July 2022 and we were very thankful for the plug-in Raid items to fend off some stubborn mosquitoes, and the portable fan worked overtime. It was bliss to wake up to the sound of the countryside, horses nearby…sheep…farmyard cockerels and one or two peacocks in the distance. We loved all the outdoor equipment t we were free to use (and make use of the sun loungers we did!). We had everything here that we could need – films to watch, books to read, games to play – it was just a joy to stay here. La parfaite retraite rurale française!

Fabulous time. Thanks so much! Thoroughly enjoyed lots of activities as well as the house and surroundings too. We loved the space and tranquility and all the amenities in the house. Restaurant in nearest village was biggest surprise – we all loved it! Cabourg beach, Villers Sur Mer, Deauville/Trouville all wonderful. WWII stuff also fascinating. Home too soon!
